Skinjobs

So Janice and I started watching Blade Runner last night, and I was totally blown away by the similarities with BSG. Sure, there are a lot of differences, but man you can see where Moore and co. got inspiration from--Blade Runner even has Edward James Olmos with a mustache!

But does it have any epic EJO shaving scenes? I think not.

You bring up an excellent point. As a man who shaves with both a badger hair brush, shaving soap, and a straight razor, I was horrified by watching EJO pretend to shave his acne scar ravaged face with what appeared to be the lather of common dish soap. Clearly he is a man in need of pre-shave oil, a moisturizing lather, and the steady hand of a professional groomer. Or are we to believe that his face has become battle hardened due to improper shaving technique? Gods, man, use a lather!

Doesn't BSG actually use the Blade Runner term "skinjobs" at some point to refer to Cylons? Or did I hallucinate that?

That's what I was wondering too. They MUST have, or we wouldn't both remember it.

I remember that too, but don't remember which episode. I think it was early on-ish. Who will be the first frakker to find the episode?

Anders calls 'em "skinjobs" while still on Caprica. I noticed that too but couldn't place why it sounded familiar.

By Gods, I'm impressed!

I'm impressed too! I wonder why they stopped using the term skinjob anyway. They should bring it back -- along with baby killing and glowing spinal columns.
